Donate to U.S. Deaflympics Centennial Celebrations Reunion

Attention: All U.S. Deaflympians - Athletes, Coaches and Officials

The United States Deaflympic Centennial Anniversary Celebrations Reunion Committee (USDCCC) was formally established in the Fall of 2021 with the purpose of planning the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Deaflympic Games.

The celebratory event will be scheduled to take place on July 24 through 28, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which is widely known as the nation’s Olympic capital.

Historically, the Deaflympic Games were co-founded by two people - the deaf Frenchman Eugene Rubens-Alcais and the deaf Belgian Antoine Dresse - in Paris, France, on August 10, 1924.

It was the very first international-type Games ever for deaf and hard of hearing athletes to compete together, regardless of any athletes with disabilities long before the World Wheelchair and Amputee Games (now known as the Paralympic Games) were organized in 1948.

It is essential to honor the legacy and spirit of the Deaflympics for the past, present and future generations of Deaflympic athletes. This will be once-a-lifetime and grandiose event to be celebrated in 2024.

The USDCCC is now in partnership with the United States of America Deaf Basketball, Inc. (USADB). The USADB (formerly known as  the American Athletic Association of the Deaf (AAAD) does have a long and distinguished history of its basketball team involvement in the Deaflympic Games since 1953.

We are tremendously gratified by the USADB's  interest in supporting our interest in organizing and gathering of the Deaflympic Games' 100th anniversary celebration event.

Because of the foregoing, we need contributions from you to make it possible for the US Deaflympic Centennial Celebration Reunion to happen.

The contributions will support by producing and manufacturing of the 100th Deaflympic Games Anniversary commemorative medallions, souvenirs and T-shirts, which will be given out to all Deaflympic members who attend the celebratory event in Colorado Springs in the summer of 2024.

In addition, we need your financial help in covering the event’s costs on renting of a large tent, renting spaces for lectures, workshops, exhibition rooms displaying your Deaflympics memorabilia, USA delegation team outfits, photography, videos, receptions, banquet, and aiding some Deaflympic members who are financially less fortunate in attending the planned celebratory event in 2024.

We would be most grateful if you could make a donation of $10, $25, $50, or $100 or give as much as you can to the USDCCC-USADB Fund. Your contribution is, of course, tax-deductible under the USADB’s 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Please see below and click the link to make donations.

Thank you again for your generous support of our event.

If you prefer to write a check, please write a check payable to USDCCC-USADB and send it to Mark J. Myers, Financial Officer. The address is shown below.

Sportingly yours,

Dr. Mark J. Myers (deceased)
1977 and 1981 U.S. Deaflympian,
Financial Officer of the United States Deaflympic Centennial Anniversary Celebration Committee
